The head of the Iqbal Forum, in an interview with Pakistan TV’s English-language channel, analyzed the latest developments in regional conflicts and spoke about Iran’s strategy to paralyze the global economy. Baqeri stated that Iran has the capability, without firing even a single torpedo, to threaten global energy security using subsurface drones and fast attack boats, and by pressuring regional countries, force Washington to halt its war machine.
Military developments and killings
He noted that the eighteenth day of the war was very tragic, and according to credible sources, Dr. Ali Larijani (Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council) and several other commanders were killed in multiple Israeli operations in Tehran.
Baqeri said that if this news is confirmed by the Iranian government, Iran’s attacks against Israel and its supporting countries will intensify significantly, and all their financial, military, and intelligence interests in the region—especially in the UAE—will be targeted by missile and drone strikes.
Iran’s resistance strategy
Baqeri emphasized that each day of resistance and refusal to surrender to the United States and Israel is a victory for Tehran and a defeat for Washington.
He stated that Iran targets only legitimate U.S. and Israeli interests and avoids attacking civilian infrastructure, but in self-defense, it has no choice but to respond.
Divisions within the U.S. government and Trump’s policies
He pointed to the resignation of some U.S. officials (such as Joe Kent) due to lack of support for the war against Iran, calling it a sign of deep divisions within the American political system.
He described Trump’s policies as incoherent and argued that his advisors (such as Kushner), lacking military expertise, had presented an unrealistic vision of quickly overthrowing the Iranian government.
The Strait of Hormuz and economic consequences
Baqeri warned that Iran could turn the Strait of Hormuz into “Hormuz Hell” for the U.S. and its allies without firing a single torpedo, using only suicide fast boats and subsurface drones.
He predicted that rising oil prices and disruptions in food and water supply routes would eventually push regional countries to pressure Washington to stop the war.
Role of international institutions
He expressed distrust in the United Nations, stating that due to its financial dependence on the United States, it lacks the ability to effectively intervene and stop the conflict.
