Mr. Bagheri, Assalamu Alaikum. Please tell us, regarding the martyrdom of Mr. Seyyed Ali Khamenei, for which we in Pakistan are also mourning, isn’t this martyrdom a sign of a very significant failure of Iran’s security and intelligence system, that such a great leader was so easily targeted?”

Mr. Mohammad Hossein Bagheri: “Your question has two aspects. The first aspect is exactly what Western media and mainstream Zionist media try to imply, namely that the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei indicates an intelligence failure in Iran.

But the other aspect is the reality, and in fact the ‘core reality’ is that Mr. Larijani stated in his interview yesterday that we knew Mr. Khamenei could be targeted and that he would be the primary target. For this reason, we repeatedly requested him to please move to a safe location or shelter with his family.

Mr. Khamenei’s response was only one thing: he said, ‘When the people of Iran are in their homes, going to their workplaces, and have no shelter to go to, how can I go? I will remain in my office and home, and if martyrdom is destined for me, I pray to God to grant it to me.’

According to Mr. Larijani, despite being repeatedly requested to move to a safe place, he completely rejected this request, emphasizing that since the people of Iran have no shelter, he too will remain in his office and home.
